I regret to inform you that the Pennsylvania House State Government Committee canceled the vote on HB 1369 today. I do not have a reason on why it was cancelled. This is a very concerning development because there is not much time left in the legislative session to get this bill passed.

If this bill passes the committee vote, it then needs to be considered in the full house for several days before it will vote on it. From there, the bill would proceed to the Pennsylvania Senate State Government Committee before going to the full Senate. This whole process will take a few weeks to accomplish.

The problem is that all of this has to be completed by November 30, 2022. That is the last legislative day for the General Assembly. If it fails to meet this deadline, we will have to start all over again in the next legislative session. Please contact your legislators to let them know that you support open primary & vote for candidates on November 8th that support open primaries.
