I grew up Conservative. And I still am, to a degree. However, I also studied in school, and have a background in science-based academia. I once heard someone say a phrase that was something like ‘Christian with common sense." A few years ago, I might not have understood what this meant. But now I feel I do. And I feel I that, it essentially applies to me—as does the phrase “Conservative with Common sense.” Although I tend to trend nowadays toward the Middle Left and the Democracts—since I grew up Conservative, and I am that way by choice—I feel that I won’t always agree with everything the Democrats say wholeheartedly. But I also can’t very well in good conscience wholeheartedly endorse the current Republican establishment due to their behavior during the last few years on a long list of issues I probably don’t need to name for you. Because current Republican philosophy contradicts mostly everything I was taught to believe that is right and true from my Holy texts, I was forced to watch in dismay as good friends died from a preventable disease for no other reason than their inability to change and adapt and admit their error. I do admire the Right’s dedication to a cause, as there is something to be said for, in certain situations, not letting others tell you what to do. But I also feel that if you NEVER let others tell you what to do, it also leads to dangerous tunnel vision. And having gone through a bit of that myself in the past, I can see the inevitable futility of it. On the same line of thought, while I may find it relatively easy to chide the Conservative Right for this, in some ways I could also say the same of the Liberal Left. And at one point, I agreed with some of what Conservatives were saying because I saw a few holes in the Democrats strategy (many of those holes were then widened deliberately by Republicans and sometimes simply were just ‘open mount insert foot moments’ by Democrats.) But through all this, I also saw a genuine Democratic willingness to apply a science-based solution to a real time problem-with the preservation of our American way of life in mind. And for that, I give them some positive points.Throughout the last few years, I have also seen a nation in complete disarray—teetering on the edge of an abyss of self destruction. We may yet be poised continually on that final precipice. However, for better or worse, we have been presented here with a unique opportunity in the creation of the ideaology of the Forward Party, in whatever form, to attempt to bridge the yawning gaps of the past that the more extreme ends of the political scale seemed unable to consistently fill. Thus, it seems essential that each Party bring the best of their own political spectrums unique perspectives to the table here—but with the sure agreement to leave the respective extremisms behind on the shelf for as long as they can stay there. With the creation of a new middle road of political ideology and potential prosperty to travel upon, Americans, as well as the rest of the World, can once again find hope that such a nation as the United States can still remain strong through trying adversity—and is still a nation to believe in. And, having found that belief again, that We the People of the United States can: In order to form a more perfect Union, re-establish Justice, insure Domestic Tranquility, provide for the Common Defence, promote the General Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and Reaffirm this Constitution of the United States of America.
