Recently, working with RCV IL, I attempted to speak to my Alder in Chicago about adding RCV to Chicago's elections. It was suggested this was something that would need to be secured at the state level. -I believe FWD IL should focus on this fight first. -Chicago is full of neighborhoods with individuals that vote democratic, but at actually much more central if not conservative. -Speaking to elected officials, I am not sure they, let alone constituents, are aware that we do NOT HAVE to stay in 2-party system. -We need greater awareness, especially on the far south side, and within areas where police and teachers live. They are more open to more central and more measured conversations.
