No Kings. No Tyrants. Forward Party in Virginia Rallies Behind Nationwide Protests After Unconstitutional LA Military Deployment
Deployment of troops without proper authority, violation of a U.S. Senator’s rights, and federal power plays in California demand a constitutional response, not silence.
The Forward Party in Virginia strongly condemns the disturbing deployment of U.S. military forces—including active-duty Marines and National Guard troops—into the city of Los Angeles without clear authorization or coordination with the state of California. Reports indicate that many of these troops arrived without formal orders, housing, food, or assurance of pay, raising urgent legal and humanitarian concerns. If the Department of Defense failed to properly process this deployment or California did not consent, these service members are effectively unlawfully deployed and unsupported.
Late Thursday evening, the U.S. Court of Appeals overturned a lower court ruling in favor of California, granting the federal government temporary authority to proceed with its actions. But this battle is far from over. The issue is now barreling toward the U.S. Supreme Court, where the stakes for federalism, state sovereignty, and military restraint could not be higher.
To make matters worse, these domestic troop deployments occurred on the same night that Israel launched strikes on Iran, with U.S. backing. Diverting our military focus to American streets while the world teeters on the edge of broader conflict is not just reckless—it is dangerous.
We are further outraged by reports that U.S. Senator Alex Padilla was detained by federal authorities during a peaceful protest in Los Angeles. This represents an unprecedented assault on a sitting member of Congress and violates both the constitutional separation of powers and the civil liberties of every American.
Federal immigration enforcement does not justify trampling the Constitution.Deploying troops against civilians and overriding the will of a sovereign state violates the Posse Comitatus Act and Tenth Amendment protections that are bedrock principles of our republic.
This is not a partisan issue—it is a democratic crisis.
That’s why the Forward Party in Virginia stands in full support of the “No Kings” protests taking place across the nation on Saturday June 14. We call on citizens of conscience to peacefully protest this executive overreach, the abuse of military authority, and the suppression of lawful dissent.
In Virginia, No Kings protests will be held in Richmond, Reston, Leesburg, Charlottesville, Tysons Corner, Manassas, Fairfax, Arlington/DC, and in other cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth.
This is a moment that demands courage, not complicity. Silence is not neutrality—it is surrender. We must stand united, not as partisans, but as patriots.
