State Committee
The Forward Party in Virginia is governed by a State Committee (aka Executive Committee) that currently has 11 seats, one for each of Virginia's 11 Congressional districts. The Committee is led by Eric Richards as Chair and Chris Hessler as Vice-Chair. Public Committee meetings typically are scheduled to occur monthly via videoconferencing on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. However, please check the website and your email for announcements about each meeting.
However, the Committee is currently working to fill six vacancies, and the Committee is preparing to expand the number of seats in the near future beyond only one member per Congressional District. You can help the Committee in this process to grow the Forward's Virginia leadership by clicking here.
Eric lives in Henrico County. He is a UVA alumnus who currently works in real estate but has experience working on and around Capitol Hill and has a lifelong passion for history and politics. Eric is motivated to focus on those things that unite rather than divide us.
Chris lives in Arlington County and leads a multinational decarbonization consulting firm. He works with Forward to coordinate Northern Virginia activities, particularly in support of our candidates, and he seeks to build a political party that rewards problem solvers and marginalizes extremists.
Volunteer Leaders
Volunteer leaders are also active with Forward Virginia outside of the State Committee. Those volunteers are guiding our efforts in recruiting candidates, advocating for ranked choice voting, communications (including this website), and organizing across the state, including on college campuses.
Arun Nedun (State Lead for Communications Technology) is one of those volunteer leaders.
Arun lives in Loudoun County. Arun became a U.S. citizen in 2022 and is excited to improve American political discourse by working to build the Forward community. If you have any technical issues with this website or have suggestions for it, please email [email protected], and Arun will be notified of your issue or comment.
More information about our roster of State Committee members and other volunteer leaders will be posted soon.
