Due to high costs of care, nursing homes are restricting admissions or closing. Is there a more efficient option for elder care than nursing homes?

The top 3 factors are: 1. direct care costs – people are expensive and there is no substitute for people caring for people. 2. Medicaid subsidies (might be #1) – residents can’t afford the entire cost and the states don’t pay the full difference. 3. Regulatory overburden. This comment section actually allows for quite a bit of characters. Can we set a character limit, or is it unlimited? Also, we could request that people reply with either a question or information about someone else’s question. That might slow the conversation a bit, but would probably be more productive with only questions and information and no opinions. Hmmm

I’d be curious to know the top 5 factors that drive up costs when it comes to elder care, whether in nursing homes or otherwise.
