Join the Forward Party’s Black Voters Committee for a virtual Juneteenth Fireside Chat with former Colorado House Speaker Terrance Carroll.
Juneteenth is both a celebration of freedom and a reminder that the work of building a more representative democracy is ongoing. This conversation will honor that legacy while looking ahead to the future of Black civic engagement, leadership, and political power in a new era of American democracy.
Our featured guest, Speaker Terrance Carroll, is the former 54th Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives and the only African American to have served as Speaker of the Colorado House. A lawyer, ordained minister, public affairs leader, and democracy advocate, Carroll brings a rare perspective shaped by public service, faith, law, and reform. He has served as a Senior Fellow for Voting and Democracy at FairVote and has been recognized as one of Denver’s most influential civic leaders.
Moderated by Nate Roseboro, Chair of the Forward Party’s Black Voters Committee, this conversation will explore the meaning of Juneteenth today, the future of Black political power, and the role new political movements can play in strengthening American civic life. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in audience Q&A and connect with the Black Voters Committee.
