Voting reforms like RCV are going to be the key to the long term success of any attempt to break our country's two party system and the toxic national politics that comes with it. Reformers all across the country are trying to adopt changes that make our system more competitive and they point to Alaska as the test case to prove these reforms work. Check out Andrew Yang's recent TED talk for context.
If this system is going to be on the ballot for repeal this November. If this is successful, it will set the whole movement back, but most importantly, it will set our state back. Back to the spoiled elections and back to the party picked candidates. As an organization, the Alaska Forward Party can become anything we want in the future, but for the next 6 months, we need to be focused on defeating this repeal. Alaskans for Honest Elections is out working at fairs, parks, and social media convincing people that RCV is some plot to steal their votes, and we need to do our part of combat that. I hope you'll help.
