Rich Tru's family has been a bedrock of the community in the Northland for generations. Living on an acreage outside of Two Harbors, he and they have been small business owners and union members, supportive neighbors, and leaders in their communities. Being neurodivergent, he has always questioned the status quo to find the truth. He can deeply empathize with people and form an unbiased sensibility, rare and invaluable traits for a representative.

First in his family to earn a Bachelor's Degree, he has achieved success as a professional artist, restaurant consultant, entrepreneur, and product manager. His varied skill set combined with his activism and experience advocating for his communities in metro areas and on the Northshore will make him a legislative force for change.
Rich is a lifelong Independent/Unaffiliated voter who aligns strongly with the Forward Party values. The Northland raised him to vote for the person not party, but now hyper-partisan culture threatens America's future. He believes that retaking our voting power through RCV and other measures is the cure to restoring our democracy.
