During his first term, Senator Tony Hwang proved to be an independent leader with a deep commitment to his community.  Born in Taiwan to parents who fled Communist China and lived under martial law, Tony’s journey to America was one of courage and hope. After graduating from Cornell University with a degree in labor relations and organizational behavior, and after a successful career in executive recruitment and real estate, he dedicated himself fully to public service. By 2008, he was elected to the Connecticut General Assembly, representing Fairfield and Trumbull.
