Rep. John Curtis (UT-03) is a relatively new member of Congress, joining via special election on November 7, 2017 after Jason Chaffetz resigned. In the short time he’s been on the Hill, Rep. Curtis has earned a reputation as a problem solver and someone who gets things done.  He is noted as the 9th most effective Republican member of Congress. 

Rep. Curtis is a staunch defender of the environment, serving on the Energy and Commerce Committee as the Vice-Chair of the Energy, Climate, and Grid Security Subcommittee. He’s also on the Natural Resources Committee as the Vice Chair of the Federal Lands Subcommittee and a member of the Energy & Mineral Resources Subcommittee.  Prior to his tenure in Washington, Rep. Curtis was the Mayor of Provo City for 8 years where he had a 94% approval rating.
