Join the Young Forwardists team on Thursday, May 29th, at 7:00 PM EST/4:00 PM PST for an exclusive Civic Engagement opportunity! As our political divisions continue to grow, it's up to every student at every high school and college to lead the charge toward change, starting with local ordinance and political engagement! This meeting will establish some ways that you can get involved locally, in your state, and nationally.
Agenda:
Week 2 (5/29): Educational Talk: “Refresher: What is an ordinance? What is state legislation? What are committees and commissions?”
Brainstorm: What does the language, style, and scope of this legislation look like?
Run of Show:
- Determine a date for Former Gov. CTW and Lt. Gov. Healey.
- Divide into teams and brainstorm a policy fit for local implementation.
DELIVERABLE DUE BEFORE 5/29:
- Identify town or state committees/commissions that would work on your bill
Narrow the scope of your bill to be low-cost and implementable on the local level (See these resources: NJ Help).
