James Robinson IV
Jim Robinson is a Co-Founder and General Partner at RRE Ventures. Over the last thirty years he has invested in over sixty companies and served on nearly 50 boards. His core investment focus is on businesses that leverage network effects, intelligence, and decentralization—including early bets on new technologies in mobile payments and blockchains. In more recent funds Jim led investments in Abra, Bitnomial, Bitpay, CAMP, DCG, HYPR, Lighting Labs, Netsertive, Noom, Olo, Paxos, Ripple Labs, Securrency and TheSkimm, among others. Jim has been recognized on the Forbes Midas List as one of the top one hundred venture capitalists, as well as by Institutional Investors' list of Top Fintech Investors. Previously, he worked at H&Q Venture Capital, JP Morgan& Co., and founded IV Systems. Aside from his RRE responsibilities, Jim serves on the boards of the Empire State Realty Trust (ESRT), and the Partnership Fund for New York City. He is an early supporter and Senior Advisor to the Chamber of Digital Commerce in Washington DC. Jim holds an MBA from Harvard and a combined degree in Computer Science and Business Administration from Antioch College. He supports several charitable endeavors, and is a father of four, an inventor, and a dog person.
