A “jack of all trades”, Marjorie is an attorney, farmer, philanthropist, and former teacher. Marjorie has dedicated her life to helping others and building a better future for North Carolina. Marjorie spent the early part of her career as a science teacher and soccer coach for high school and community college students. After a heart-to-heart conversation with her husband, it became clear that a teacher’s salary was insufficient, so she changed her career and obtained law and MBA degrees from Wake Forest. She supported her husband’s military roles as NC’s Surgeon General and during his deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. Tragically, Marjorie’s husband passed away due to his combat service.

Following her husband’s passing, Marjorie became a VA-accredited attorney to help fight for veterans’ rights. She has helped a multitude of organizations legally and has been recognized by the NC Supreme Court for her work. Under her leadership, North Carolina will be put on a better course.
