County Chair - Volunteer Opportunity

Are you willing to lead others? Do you have a passion to bring lasting, structural change to the political landscape of West Virginia? If so, this volunteer opportunity might just be for you!

As a county chair you will serve as a WV FWD leader, proactively engaging with your local community to build support for West Virginia FWD. You will work with state leadership to identify best practices for managing community organizers, building party momentum, recruiting WV supporters, and organizing events & activities in your local community within West Virginia. 

County chairs help drive the Forward Party movement.  They are leaders who are passionate about the FWD mission and work to build strong community relationships that propel the movement forward. 

No political background or experience necessary–just a passion and willingness to bring practical, common-sense solutions to West Virginia.

Location: Remote - County chair must reside in represented county

Time Commitment: 5+ hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Regularly attend team meetings
• Regularly attend state meetings
• Serve as the WV Forward person of contact for your county
• Manage community organizers and outreach within your county
• Develop partnerships and relationships within your county and across the state to increase awareness and further WV Forward objectives 
• Identify and recruit WV Forward supporters and volunteers
• Create ongoing local events and/or activities (EX: meet-ups, tabling at festivals) ideally at least one per month

• Ability to manage people
• Passion for community building and willingness to engage with people from a variety of perspectives and backgrounds with grace & tolerance
• Reliable with a high degree of discretion and integrity
• Initiative-taker with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
