Ronda Mays has a long history of advocacy and community service. She began her journey by successfully advocating for better housing conditions in her community, which led her to work with Citizen Action of New York and become the first organizer of the Buffalo Empowerment Project. After relocating to Winston-Salem, NC, in 1995, she continued her advocacy, serving in various roles including school social worker, director of family engagement, and President of the Forsyth County Association of Educators. Mays has been deeply involved in voter registration, campaign work, and organizing public housing tenants, educators, and parents to address critical issues.
