My name is Kyle DeMarino, I graduated from University of Delaware with a degree in political science and public policy from the Joseph R. Biden School of Public Policy. Shortly after, I started a new political party called the Middle Party with the goal of moving politics past blind partisanship to evidence-based policy making and compromise. I live and work in West Chester PA, and over the last year I have partnered with the PA Serve America Movement Party and work alongside their leadership team as we plan on running candidates for the State House in 2022. I’ve also been in touch with the Forward Party but avoided applying for state lead as I wasn’t sure if I would be a candidate in this election or not.
I explored running in the PA House district 156 race as a Republican but under a Forward-centric, moderate, pro-compromise and anti-corruption platform but after not receiving the GOP endorsement, I feel the best use of my time is to work advancing the SAM and Forward Party to move us past the toxic duopoly.
Through my local activism via social media, community events and networking in West Chester with the Middle Party, I have activated a significant portion of Chester County to awareness about the general message that Middle, Forward, and SAM are aligned on.
I’ve gained valuable positive networking with elected Republicans and Democrats, many of whom are respectful of the message. Even among The Chester County Republicans who did not choose to endorse me, there was a lot of interest and positive feedback. As a lifelong West Chester resident, I also find many on the ground who agree with our message and can’t tell you how many times I’ll be approached by an mutual friend or someone I knew from whenever ago to say how supportive they are of our message and that we are fighting to represent them.
It’s truly inspiring.
I also caucus with the Chester County Libertarian Party with their monthly meetings. They hold their meetings at a bar in West Chester (college town) and I think emulating their model is very effective because it’s a fun space to incentivize people to meet and it indirectly advertises our cause to lots of people. I’m very confident I could hold an in-person event in the West Chester area and get a dozen or so people to come to the first meeting.
I believe using my effective communication and leadership skills, as well as my passion for the Forward Party message, I can be a great lead for Pennsylvania, especially across the southeast region in the Philadelphia collar counties.
