This book, Think Again: The Power of Knowing What you Don't Know, challenges us to examine how we change our minds and seek to change the minds of others. Author Adam Grant makes a case for rationality and flexible thinking as two of our most essential tools for solving complex problems. We see specific strategies to recognize reactionary thought patterns and question basic assumptions, which we can use to guard against mental manipulation. He also demonstrates how practicing these principles leads to open and effective collaboration, creating a path to real improvement of our overheated and counterproductive political and cultural discussions.

The Forward Party's success ultimately depends on people's willingness to open their minds (and possibly change.) We must create space for people to come together and question attitudes from both extremes of the political spectrum that seek to divide us. When we listen calmly, set aside judgment, and disagree while assuming good faith on the part of our fellow Americans, we model some of Forward's most important principles – openness, intellectual curiosity, and cognitive flexibility. This conversation will consider how Forwardists can best embody these values.

*You're welcome to join us even if you don't make it to the end of the book. Also, we will have an Online version of this same event on the calendar very soon.
